Elder Smith

We are getting regular emails and letters from Dane now. Here are a few disgusting pictures of his apartment. He is having a hard time with his companion at the moment. His companion is from Las Vegas and Dane describes him as an "Older, Balding, Fat Guy". He gets on Dane all the time for everything for even touching his stuff. He puts him down for everything he does and other than that talk that is all he talks to Dane. He refuses to talk to Dane. It's like having the silent treatment. I can't understand how missionaries that are out there to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ can act that way. Dane met with President Gee yesterday and Dane told him how his companion is treating him and he admitted to Dane that he put him with the worse missionary in the mission but he did it because he knew Dane could handle it. Dane said "What the heck President, don't you like me?" They had a good laugh. Dane is hoping that in two weeks when transfers come up that he will get out of there. Other than that he is doing well. They are teaching a few people right now and have had success in bringing some to church. He taught a Tongan man the other day and when they were teaching him he had tears running down his face the whole time and said that is what he was looking for. Dane said he is very polite and nice like all polynesians. They are also teaching a small family as well. He is enjoying Purcell he said it is a small town like Gunnison. He gets lots of dinner appointments. He says people run from them thinking they are the IRS or something. Overall he is enjoying it there.
